Rick Frazee Post Card Collection

Title

Rick Frazee Post Card Collection

Description

Rick Frazee was born in New Jersey where his father Richard (Dick) Frazee was an executive with Reaction Motors, the makers of the X-15 rocket engine used in the space program.

In the early 1960's Rick's father, believing the space industry was headed for a downturn, began exploring other career options. In 1962 he purchased what, at the time was a Quality Court, now the Mt. Vernon Inn, and moved the family to Winter Park. In 1971 Rick went to work for his father as general manager of the inn, a position he still holds today.

Rick is a graduate of St. Leo University. He takes an active role in the Winter Park community as a member of several city appointed committees. In addition to collecting Winter Park postcards, Rick's other hobby is English Morgan sport cars and he participates in the annual All British Car and Cycle Show held at Lake Island Park. He became interested in post cards of Winter Park about ten years ago and now has a substantial collection.

Rick graciously gave permission for the library to scan an archival copy of each postcard and to select sample copies to showcase on the Winter Park History and Archives site.

The Rick Frazee Postcard Collection dates from the early 1900's, numbers approximately 600, and is arranged into broad subject catagories.
